The first and most important step to safeguarding your identity is to make sure your sensitive information is monitored and protected. We help you do just that.

To get the most of your PrivacyArmor® account, take these three actions today. Altogether it only takes a few minutes — and you can live with the peace of mind that we’re watching out for you.

1. Complete Your Profile

Cybercriminals can do a lot of damage with a little bit of information. Armed with a few key details, such as your name, address, and nine-digit Social Security number, a thief could run up debt in your name, destroy your credit, and cause long-term financial damage.

Our agents monitor the dark web and other hacker forums for our members’ Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This level of access helps us alert you if we find your information for sale.

To ensure the most comprehensive identity monitoring, log into the portal and follow these steps to complete your profile:

  • Tap the icon in the upper right-hand corner
  • Select “Account Settings”
  • Fill in the “Personal Information” and “Alert Preferences”

2. Activate Credit Monitoring

Not all traditional credit monitoring services offer identity protection. Some services simply “monitor” your credit and occasionally alert you to changes. What they don’t do, however, is take quick action and help you combat detected risks.

Every second counts when spotting identity theft.

We alert you right away if your TransUnion score suddenly dips or a suspicious new account opens in your name. From there, Privacy Advocates are on hand to provide round-the-clock assistance with any needed next steps.

To activate credit monitoring, you must complete a knowledge-based authentication form with questions about your credit history. To begin the process, log into the portal and:

  • Tap the Credit Monitoring tab
  • Follow the prompts to complete the authentication form

3. Enable Dark Web Monitoring

Roughly half of Americans feel their personal information is less secure than it was five years ago. Current events aren’t helping either. The good news is there are steps you can take to help protect your information from the risks of the dark web.

PrivacyArmor members can opt to receive alerts when their login credentials, account numbers, or other sensitive details have been exposed on the dark web. We can even help stop threats before identity theft happens.

We can monitor the dark web for the following:

  • Email addresses
  • Credit and debit card numbers
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Log-in credentials
  • IP addresses
  • Checking accounts
  • Passport numbers
  • Vehicle insurance numbers
  • Professional licenses
  • Membership cards
  • Gamer IDs
  • Medical information including National Provider Identifier numbers, DEA numbers

To add items to be monitored, log into the portal and follow these steps for each item:

  • Tap the Dark Web Monitoring tab
  • Tap “Add new item”
  • Once you’ve selected an item, fill in the related fields
  • Hit “Save”
